William "Bill" Walzer, age 84 of Perry, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at the VA Central Iowa Health Care System in Des Moines, IA. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Perry. Visitation will be on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Perry. Burial with military rites will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery at Perry. Memorials will be given to family for later designation and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care.

William "Bill" Ferd Walzer was born on November 28, 1934 in Chicago, IL to Alvah Scallinger and Nora Clara (Rooney) Walzer. He attended school in Chicago, IL. He served in the United States Army. He was united in marriage to Marjorie Mae Knight in Fort Collins, CO on January 24, 1958. Bill worked for Oscar Mayer in Perry and the Polk City Nursing Home doing maintenance.

He was a member of the St. Martin's Episcopal Church in Perry. He enjoyed camping, listening to recorded books, roller skating and spending time with his family.

In death he rejoins his parents, Alvah and Nora.

Left to cherish Bill’s memory are his wife Marjorie, Perry, IA, children, Mike Walzer, Sheldahl, IA, Kathy (Fred) Sawdy, Urbandale, IA, Laura (George), Klesel, Boone, IA and Scott (Jodi) Walzer, Des Moines, IA, 8 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, siblings, Raymond Walzer, Scranton, IA, Jo Anne Emmons, CA, Judy (Ronald) Elliott, Des Moines, IA, Richard Walzer, CA, James Walzer, NC and Allen (Carol) Walzer, Springdale, AR.
