Toodie Norem age 77 of Perry passed away on Thursday, August 04, 2016 at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines, IA. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 08, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry. Visitation will be on Monday, August 08, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at the Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry. Burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery at Perry IA. Memorials will be given to any Animal Rescue League of your choice and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home.
Toodie Norem was born on August 28, 1938 at Emmetsburg, IA to Clarence Edward and Lucy Lucille (Sherman) Morman. She attended school at Hampton, IA. She was united in marriage to Donavin Orland Norem at Alden, IA on February 4, 1956. She worked at Foley's Department Store in Dallas, TX.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church where she served as Lay Leader and with the United Methodist Women. She enjoyed attending her grandchildren's sporting events, working in the garden, crocheting and sitting down to read a good book.
Toodie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Donavin Norem, daughter, Jan Hutchens, granddaughter, April Simmons, great granddaughter, Addison Elizabeth Simmons, brother, Art Morman and a sister Shirley Hood.
She is survived by her daughter, JoEllen (Jack) Hunter, Yale, IA, son-in-law, Craig Hutchens, Wheaton, IL, grandchildren, Juan (Bridgette) Ramirez, Ryan Wilson, Jerrod Ramirez, Courtney Wilson and Chase Hunter, great grandchildren, Peyton Ramirez, Riley Clark, Maycee Hotle and Jake Gerritsen, siblings, Wess Sherman, Berkley, IA, John (Linda) Morman, Perry, IA, Clarence (Belinda) Morman, Dawson, IA and Duane (Francie) Morman, Perry, IA, and a sister-in-law, Betty Morman, Bouton, IA.
