Ronald Owens, age 68 of Perry, lost his battle to cancer on Monday, June 26, 2017 at the Dallas County Hospital in Perry, IA. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, June 29, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. at the Crossroads Church in Perry. Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home in Perry. Burial will be in the People's Cemetery at a later date. Memorials will be given to the family and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home. 


Ronald Ernest Owens was born on October 2, 1948 at Leon, IA to Ernest and Mary Louise (Purdue) Owens. Ron graduated from Dallas Center High School. He worked for Osmundsons Manufacturing for many years and also worked for Wiese Corporation. Later Ron retired from the City of Perry, IA where he often cared for the cemetery. He loved this job. Ron enjoyed camping, playing softball, fishing and being with his family. He also enjoyed NASCAR and football. Ron was a wonderful man and will be greatly missed.


He is preceded in death by his wife Dianna Owens.  


Ronald is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Owens of Perry, IA, Robin (Shannon) Schumacher of Salisbury, NC and Jamie (Randy) Galivan of Bagley, IA, grandchildren include Kendra, Kylee and Kaden Smith of Des Moines, IA, Elizabeth (Jackson) Wildes of Japan, Taya and Lucas Schumacher of Salisbury, NC, Dylan, Patience, Aydan and Samantha Galivan of Bagley, IA, great grandson Joseph Wildes of Japan, sister Reva Owens of Perry, IA and a brother Rick Owens of Jamaica, IA.
