Margaret Jean Regina Meinecke, age 84 of Perry passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019 at the Perry Lutheran Home in Perry. According to her wish’s cremation rites have taken place and a private family services will be held. The burial will be in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Jamaica, IA at a later date. Memorials will be given to her family and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care.
Margaret Jean was born on March 16, 1934 at Creston, IA to Nicholas Francis and Mary Agatha (McElroy) Weber. At a young age her family moved to Britt, IA and later moved Wesley, IA where she attended the St. Joseph Catholic School and Wesley Community School. She worked as a secretary in Des Moines, IA. Margaret Jean was united in marriage to Calvin Meinecke at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Des Moines, IA on August 31, 1955. She worked in a manufacturing plant in Jefferson, IA. Later she attended DMACC in Boone, IA where she earned her nursing degree and then worked at the Greene County Medical Center as a nurse and activities director.
She was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jamaica, IA and the PTA for YJB schools. She enjoyed attending her children’s activities, genealogy, gardening and going on long walks.
In death she rejoins her husband Calvin, parents, Nicholas and Mary along with a brother, Harold Weber and a sister Marceline Roeder.
Left to cherish Margaret Jean’s memory are her children, Steve (Lori) Meinecke, Perry, IA, Mark Meinecke, Windsor Heights, IA, JC Meinecke, Windsor Heights, IA, grandson, Cory (Michelle) Meinecke, Yale, IA, and their children, Brayden and Mason, grandson, Casey (Stephanie) Meinecke, Hartland, WI and their children, Easton and Capri, a step-granddaughter, Abby (Al) Juhl, Garner, IA, grandsons, Nicholas Meinecke, Minneapolis, MN, and Ryan Meinecke, Windsor Heights, IA and sisters-in-law, Frances Weber, Algona, IA and Roberta Meinecke, Panora, IA.
