Kathleen Bice, age 61 of Woodward, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2018 at the Israel House Hospice in Ames, IA. Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 9, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at the Woodward United Methodist Church in Woodward. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 8, 2018 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Woodward United Methodist Church in Woodward. Burial will be in the Woodward Cemetery at Woodward, IA. Memorials will be given to her family and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care. 

Kathleen Louise Bice was born on March 16, 1957 at Jefferson, IA to August "Bud" Edward and Marjorie Jane (Hollingshead) Staebler. She graduated from the Gilbert High School. She was united in marriage to Michael Lynn Bice at Las Vegas, NV on November 9, 1998. She worked at Woodward Resource Center for 29 years and retired in December of 2013.

She was a member of the Woodward United Methodist Church and Woodward Library Board. Kathy was a certified Melanoma Educator. She enjoyed scrapbooking, travelling, watching ISU sports, being with her dogs, gardening, shopping and drinking coffee with her friends. Kathy adored her grandchildren and they adored her.

In death she rejoins her, mother, Marjorie Jane Staebler, grandparents, Ray and Mercedes Hollingshead, Irma and Frank Staebler, and a brother Craig Francis Staebler.

Left to cherish Kathy’s memory are her husband Michael Bice, father August "Bud" Edward Staebler, children, Nicholas Hadaway, Ankeny, IA, Michelle (Jared) Sharr, Woodward, IA, Danielle (Brian) Schertz, Bettendorf, IA and Jennifer (PJ) Runge, Chicago, IL, grandchildren, Wiley, Grace and Elijah Sharr, Allison and Owen Schertz.
