James "Jim" Pommer, age 66 of Perry, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at his home in Perry, IA after a long battle with pancreatic cancer. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 3:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Perry. Burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery at Perry, IA at a later date.


James "Jim" Daniel Pommer was born on April 2, 1951 at Perry, IA to John Junior and Ruth Lorraine (Lillebo) Pommer. He attended school at Perry High School, graduating with the class of 1969. He was united in marriage to Patricia Ann Cobb at Honesdale, PA on July 5, 1980. He worked as a baker at various locations and had his own janitorial business. In the 1990’s, he started working in electronics, owned his own business, Pommer Consulting, and was currently working at Telligen as a network engineer.


He was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. He enjoyed the study of space, and dreamed about being a particle physicist. Jim loved travelling, camping, and teaching, especially truths from the Bible.


Preceding him in death were his parents John and Ruth Pommer, infant daughter, Aimee Mae, and a sister, Paula Fairchild.


Left to cherish Jim’s memory are his wife Patti Pommer, Perry, IA, children Kenyon (Agnis) Pommer, Perry, IA, Anthony Pommer, Grimes, IA and Brett Pommer, Ankeny, IA, grandchildren Sean and Agatha, siblings, Pam Fantauzzi (Joe), John M. Pommer (Darlene), and Brian Pommer (Kelly), and a large family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
