Gary Friedrichsen, age 63 of Ogden, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2019 at the Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, IA. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. at the Christ Lutheran Church, rural Bouton. Visitation will be on Friday, December 27, 2019 from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m, family will be present from 5:00 to7:00 p.m. At 5:00 p.m. there will be a time of sharing memories and visitation will then resume until 7:00 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Perry. Burial will be in the Peoples Cemetery at a later date. Memorials will be given to his family for later designation and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Gary Eugene Friedrichsen was born on September 7, 1956 at Perry, IA to Eugene William and Betty Mae (Rothfus) Friedrichsen. He graduated from Perry High School. He was united in marriage to Linda Ann Peterson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Perry on December 9, 1978. He worked at Morgan’s Implement near Ogden, Van Wall Equipment and was a co-owner of ABS in Bouton. He also raised livestock and began farming full-time in the 90s.
He was a member of the Christ Lutheran Church where he served as a Trustee. He enjoyed restoring his 1967 Mustang, moto cross racing in his youth, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
In death he rejoins his parents.
Left to cherish Gary’s memory are his wife Linda, children Tony (Clare) Friedrichsen, Tina (Jon) Sumner, Amy (Jon) Schumacher and Scott (Caitlin) Friedrichsen, grandchildren, Ellie, Isaiah, Hazel, Lola and Silas Friedrichsen, Wyatt and Austin Sumner, Emilia and Ambrose Schumacher and Maddox, Zaylee and Wilder Friedrichsen, siblings, Karen (Dick) Hensen, Donna Wells, Norma (Charlie) Seibert, Robert (Lisa) Friedrichsen, Jan Friedrichsen and John (Beth) Friedrichsen.
