Emogene Delores Snyder was born on November 4, 1931 in Boone, IA to Harvey A. and Leona M. (Carlson) Snyder. She grew up on the family farm near Boxholm, IA and graduated from Boxholm Community School in 1949. She met her future husband, Keith Marshall Daniels from Ottosen, IA on her senior “skip day” in Storm Lake, IA. They were united in marriage at the First United Methodist Church in Boone, IA on October 7, 1950, a marriage that lasted for more than 62 years until Keith’s death in 2013.

Emogene was a homemaker for most of her life. She was also very involved with farm activities from the time she and Keith purchased the Snyder family farm shortly after their marriage, until they sold the farm in 1978, and moved to Perry. She was an active member of the EUB-United Methodist Church in Boxholm, and later the First Presbyterian Churches in Perry, Boone, and Creston, IA. She loved animals and took care of beloved pets (especially dogs) most of her life. She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening, music, and playing the piano. For over 50 years she was a proud member and attended the ODO (Our Day Out) Club with other ladies from the Boxholm and Pilot Mound area. Emogene and Keith loved to attend church, school, and sporting events to support their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, often traveling great distances.

In death, she reunites with her beloved husband Keith, her parents Harvey and Leona, her infant sister Mildred Darlene Snyder, her son-in-law, Bill Honaker, her father-in-law, and mother-in-law, Loran and Alma Daniel, her brother-in-law, Conley Daniels, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces.

Left to cherish Emogene’s memory are her daughter, Dee Daniels, Bakersfield, CA; her sons, Dennis (Christine) Daniels, Waverly, IA; and Dave (Holly) Daniels, Perry, IA; her seven grandchildren: Michelle (Joe) Haller, Karyn (Ben) Schulte, Lindsay (Rich) Speidel, Jr., Matthew (Leah) Daniels, Jon (Sandee) Honaker, Tyler Daniels, and fiancée, Catelyn Gottschalk, and Ben Daniels, and fiancée, Cassidy Bennett; her seventeen great grandchildren: Ethan, Alayna, Callie, and Lyndie Schulte; Lukas, Sarah, and Zackary Haller; Cecilia and Iris Speidel; Korbin, Kinley, and Kamden Daniels; Adeline, Allison, Elizabeth, and Jacob Honaker; and Elana Reece.

Emogene is also survived by her first cousins: Rosalie Harrison, Boone, IA; Pamela (Laird) Taylor, Bakersfield, CA; Marjorie Mather, Albuquerque, NM; and Shirley (Bruce) Wayland, Lincoln City, OR; her brother-in-law, and sister-in-law, Doug and Donna Daniel, Burnsville, MN; her sister-in-law, Janet Daniels, Des Moines, IA; and numerous other cousins, nieces, and nephews.
