Dana Keenan, age 60 of Des Moines and formerly of Perry, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at the UnityPoint Hospice - Taylor House in Des Moines, IA. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 15, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Perry. Visitation will be on from 2:00 p.m. until time of the service at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Perry. Burial will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery at Perry, IA. Memorials will be given to the Animal Rescue League or Taylor House Hospice and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care. 

Dana Dwight Keenan was born on April 15, 1958 at Perry, IA to Daryl DeVere and Dorothy Lou (Lester) Keenan. He graduated from Perry High School with the class of 1976. He was united in marriage to Jo Ann Millard at the First Christian Church in Perry on November 11, 2016. He worked at Oscar Mayer, the Progressive Foundry, the Perry Golf and Country Club, and Dallas County Hospital.

He was a member of the Perry Elks Lodge and the Perry Golf and Country Club. He enjoyed playing drums, music, reading, golfing, and watching sports.

In death he rejoins his parents, Daryl and Dorothy Keenan.

Left to cherish Dana’s memory are his wife, Jo Ann Keenan, Des Moines, IA, children, Natasha (Ryan) McCrory, Altoona, IA, Nathan (Maggie) Keenan, Adel, IA, Caleb Keenan, Cedar Rapids, IA and Michelle (Richard) Burgett, Des Moines, IA, grandchildren, Korin and Gavin McCrory, Carissa and Caeden Keenan, Connor Keenan, Ali, Elizabeth and Stephanie Burgett, great grandchildren, Keonna and Jaliyah LeFlore, siblings, Dixie (Lynn) Daniels, Perry, IA and Denell (Tim) Hansen, Minden, IA.
