Clarice Bergman, age 93 of Madrid, passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames, IA. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation 1 hour prior to the service at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Perry, IA with Titus Lehman, Kyle Bredesky and Shari Connelly officiating. Burial will be on Monday, April 30, 2018 in the Pleasant View Cemetery at Little Rock, IA at 1:30 p.m. Memorials will be given to the family and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care.
Clarice Janelle Bergman was born on August 6, 1924 to Cornelius and Ida (Kruger) De Boer near Little Rock, IA. Clarice attended country school near Little Rock. On September 30, 1943 Clarice was united in marriage to Cecil M. Bergman. They were married 64 years. The couple spent the majority of their lives farming in the Little Rock area and in 1990 moved to an acreage near George, IA. Following the death of her spouse in 2008, Clarice moved to Perry, IA. In 2014 she moved to the Cedars Assisted Living in Madrid, IA.
She is survived by 3 daughters: Carol (Lyle) Patten of Bouton, IA, Ruby (Ken) Johnson of Kansas City, MO and Jan Bergman of Polk City, IA, son JR Bergman of Swisher, IA, 6 grandchildren: Angela (Bob) Christner and children, Dane and Eva of Boone, IA, Lyla (Noah) Joseph and children, Lily and Chloe of Bloomington, IN, Sharon Fleming and children Isabella and Colton of Kansas City, MO, Brian (Sarah) Johnson and children, Chrisarah, Cyris, Madison and Lilyana of Independence, MO, Lisa (Jamie) Kuzman of Sioux Falls, SD, and Justin Bergman of Iowa City, IA.
Clarice was preceded in death by her parents and 3 sisters: Eileen Venenga, Eunice Meyer and Helen De Boer.
The strength of her life was her faith in God and His Word
